WALLDORF — SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) today announced that it has been positioned by Gartner Inc., the leading provider of research and analysis on the global information technology industry, as a leader in the Magic Quadrant for Operational Database Management Systems (DBMS) report – where SAP has been positioned as a leader since 2013.
The evaluation is based on completeness of vision and ability to execute. According to the report, “The operational DBMS market is defined by relational and nonrelational database management products that are suitable for traditional transactions used to support business processes.”
“We believe that our improvement on the ‘ability to execute’ axis in the Leaders quadrant of Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Operational DBMS report – as compared to the previous year – reflects customer satisfaction regarding product capability expansion and innovation through the SAP HANA business data platform, and the growth of our partner ecosystem,” said Irfan Khan, global head of Sales, Platform and Data Management,; SAP. “We are dedicated to bringing the intelligent enterprise to life via our digital platform, intelligent technologies and intelligent suite of applications for our increasing customer base – which currently comprises more than 27,000 customers using SAP HANA.”
To qualify for inclusion in this Magic Quadrant, vendors must have had to support two of the following four use cases: traditional transactions, distributed variable data, operational analytical convergence and event processing or data in motion. The research aims to help nonrelational and cloud-based vendors make better modernization choices.
Ballance Agri-Nutrients Ltd. is among the tens of thousands of companies using SAP HANA.
“In order for us to fulfill our promise to help farmers create sustainable, viable businesses and drive better productivity and profitability, we needed the right data foundation for establishing our digital future,” said Dave Scullin, chief digital officer, Ballance Agri-Nutrients. “By implementing SAP at our digital core, we significantly improved sales productivity and reporting by speeding up key business processes by 75 percent and providing subsecond insight into years’ worth of data. We now operate like an intelligent enterprise that can explore newer technologies surrounding IoT and CRM to create a great customer digital experience across every company touch point.”
